county you can see mixed showers. most have been through the philadelphia area and southern new jersey as it has stayed offshore. a couple of bands trying to sneak into elkton, mainly east, east of the chesapeake bay. we are seeing some showers, a wet flake with showers. we' keep a close eye on this. some of it could wrap in but most of it will stay to the north and east of baltimore and whatever snow shower we do see from harford county down, we're in the 40s but 30s toward dover. it's those eastern areas where that wet snow could mix in as the nor'easter continues its slow drift off to the north and east, but around the city, just quiet, i think. maybe a mixed shower. >> the only break we get these days is from a water main break.

here we are fresh off sandy and a raging river right down charles street. >> tonight we've got live team coverage with joce sterman and rosie leftwich. how bad is it out there? >> reporter: nine hours after this first started, water is still flowing on charles street. you see the bpw crews are in a holding pattern. >> reporter: take a look behind me. the water is coming down. let me show you a picture of what happened earlier. it started at 7:30 at 20th and charles. a 60-inch main was built in the 1920s and put in the ground. water was rolling down like the

susquehanna. water up there in inches -- water should be measured in feet in some of the basements in the buildings. bus routes have been affected. transportation has been affected. city officials say it will be a long time before they get this cleaned up. one of the things they have to worry about the gas and utilities. >> we may consider, if you will, a rerouting of natural gas if we have to, to ensure that the line that is in the affected area is not compromised. >> we ask people to be patient. this is a cross road and a lot of commuters use the route. there's no getting around it. use calvert street and just do your best to avoid the area. >> reporter: luckily that's what's been happening. people have been dhoog their best to -- doing their best to

avoid the area. you have to be able to get around. a lot of people are trying to stay away now but tomorrow morning it will be a totally different story. >> reporter: the water main break shines a light on the city's aging infrastructure. they're working to fix. it they have a long range plan but it will take years and millions and millions of dollars. this water main that broke and send water down charles street is one of many they have to replace as homeowners are helped. they're continuing to work on their long range plans to keep breaks like this from happening in the first place. they're working to get to a point where they cran repair 40 miles of water main pipe every year, 33 and 35 and when they hit the 40-mile mark there are

decades and decades of work that will remain with that. >> if you don't think about the long term plan, then you end up with old infrastructure, okay and upend up with these situations. if you don't think long term then you'll have a continuation of this type of situation. we're thinking long term. we're being proactive. >> reporter: obviously, being proactive comes at a cost. just to get to that five-year mark, it's 300 million. ultimately that will trickle down through a rate hike. they'll issue out the bonds and you as the customer will pay them back. that's the impact. water main brake or not. others live right in this area. >> one of the buildings here, people feared it would collapse. we have since learned people have been able to go back inside

knowing if the streets will collapse. >> the whole street coming up. >> reporter: resulting in possibly many injuries to pedestrians, work crews and vehicles. >> there was a bus right here that was getting ready to drive into it. they didn't realize how deep it was. if they had went in, i'm sure they would have gotten hurt. >> reporter: many residents fear. >> we ain't doing to have no water. >> reporter: but crews work feverishly to isolate the problem. >> yeah, we got water. >> reporter: and those fierce were minimized. traffic on charles street was shut down from penn station it 21st street, causing traffic to be diverted and people resorting to walking or cycling. >> had to get out of the car. my friend dropped me off at penn station and walked three blocks up. my feet got wet trying to cross through the intersection. >> reporter: this will not have

maryland made history approving same-sex marriage. mein and washington state also passed it. in minnesota there was a constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriage and it failed. back in 2007 after years of debate lawmakers allowed five casinos with only slots. voters approved it in 2008 but it took years to open the doors. while many candidates spent the night in their home states, sooner or later they have to go back it d.c. >> democrats managed to hold on to a majority in the senate, republicans in the house of representatives. >> reporter: if you're hoping this election would change the face of congress, you have to look below the surface. >> i'm not kidding. i'm grad to be back. >> reporter: harry reid will
